I will be introducing the Twixt Agent System’s purpose and benefits and showing you a brief demo of the User Interface.
The Twixt Agent System consists of three primary components
Twixt Server is the heart of the system. It lives on our secure hosted cloud. It is responsible for moving data from one system to the other. Acting both as a translator and traffic cop.
Twixt Client is the remote control of the system. It lives on any PC in the world. Twixt Client allows users to view status logs for different jobs and to fire off a job on ad hoc basis.
Finally, Twixt API bridges the gaps between the two. It also allows us developers to configure and set up the system as well as tailor the functionality to meet different industry needs.
The chief purpose of Twixt Agent system is to synchronize data between an ERP system and another source.
For our demo today we will be looking at syncing data between Scissortail HCM and Acumatica ERP.
The two systems share some common master data and interact with each other via a few key business processes.
For example the Employee master record has many common fields between Acumatica and Scissortail.
Twixt Agent keeps these systems in Sync by designating one system as Primary and then updating the information in the secondary system.
Twixt Agent also eliminates the need to manually export datafiles from one system and then upload those file into the other to complete some business processes.
For instance today, when Sue the payroll expert finishes payroll in Scissortail she must make a Journal Entry into Acumatica to record it in the financials. Twixt Agent is set up to aggregate the payroll file and make a consolidated entry into Acumatica. Sue then can choose to have it automatically released or held for her review before posting. This saves time and effort for Sue and ensures the data doesn’t suffer from human data entry errors. Her role transforms from data entry clerk or file processer to that of Auditor.
