The timesheet prep process is presented in a check list view to take you step by step through the process of getting timesheets ready for payroll. These steps can be modified to meet your processing needs.
The first step in our example is to view the status of the timesheet approvals. Approvals can be done by both employees and managers or the administrator. Reminder emails can be sent to ensure they are done in a timely manner.
Timesheets can be reviewed on screen with the ability to drill down into them for more detail or to customize the view of the timesheets and payroll totals, etc.
Prior to finalizing the timesheets for payroll, administrators can review them, prompt managers if approvals are missing or reject the timesheet. Rejecting a timesheet will require the entry of a comment and the manager will need to correct and resubmit the rejected timesheet.
There are checks and balances in place for missing punches, negative time off balances.
One all timesheets are approved, recalculation of the timesheets ensures shift differential, rounding rules, etc. are applied correctly.
The final step is to create the report that will be used for payroll and to lock down the pay period so no other changes can be made.
