Time Collection with Scissortail HCM Software

Here is a look at the Scissortail HCM system from the perspective of the employee’s life cycle starting with ESS.
We begin by logging in as a sample employee which shows a dashboard screen enabled for the employee which is a great way to access certain areas of the system that the employee uses most frequently.
A dashboard can be configured for each individual employee based on their role and the type of things they need to access within the system.
The employee can access their timesheet from this dashboard where the employee can document their time. The timesheet in this example is most commonly used for hourly employees. It uses the server time which adjust for different time zones. In this timesheet, changes can easily be requested by using the button in the upper right hand corner.
Employees have access to other self service features as well, such as the request time off feature. In order to submit a request, the employee simply would fill out the form on the left side entering the type of time off they would like to take, i.e. vacation, sick, etc. Once the form is filled out, the employee can enter a comment referring to the reason why they need the time off. Once the request is submitted, an email notification will be sent to the manager to let them know the request has been made.
Now that we’ve looked at the system from the employee’s perspective, let’s switch gears and look at the system from the manager’s view.
The manager has an extensive dashboard enabled for them, every dashboard can be configured to meet each individual users needs. In this case, the manager’s dashboard is geared toward the managerial duties and puts all the information they need to know about their employees right at their fingertips.
For example, the manager can view the attendance board to see who’s in and who’s out of the office at any given time. This report is also available on the mobile app so the manager can keep tabs while out of the office.
Now let’s take a look at the item’s pending the manager’s approval. There is a bell icon showing the manager’s todo list. By clicking on this, the manager can see all the items that they are responsible for approving or rejecting. From here, the manager can see, for instance, employee time balances to immediately know if the employee has enough time to compensate for the amount of time off requested.
Now, we take a look at how the manager can approve timesheets.
The manager can review timesheets from a detailed report where a manager can review, approve, or reject a timesheet. All timesheets can be selected at once for speedier approval of all timesheets.
Going back to the dashboard, the manager can run other reports…let’s go into the detailed hours report. With any given report, you can use filters to gather the appropriate data. In addition to these filters, you can also search through the report for specific criteria.
Finally, we look at the system from an administrative perspective. We are now logged in as an administrator. From the administrator’s dashboard, the administrator has a process time link, amongst many other links…from here the administrator can look at all of the timesheets and who is responsible for them. Clicking on a link will tell us who the approvers are for that particular timesheet.
The next step would be process records…this allows the system to group the data accordingly and get it ready for payroll.
Then we would review the results, this will give an overview of the calculated hours prior to exporting the information to payroll and display any errors that may have slipped through the cracks.
The last two steps are to create the payroll interface file and lock the pay period to prevent any other modifications to be made to this particular pay period.
