In August, the Tulsa Chapter of the IMA Institute of Managerial Accountants held its Annual CPE Conference. The day two event gave accounting professionals the opportunity to obtain continuing education hours through a full agenda of speakers and topics. The first day included an economic forecast of the oil and gas industry, an employment law update, session on technology risk and trends, ethics in the workplace and ended with a social event which allowed attendees to meet and greet.
The second day started with speaker Major Dan Rooney, USAF sharing his story and the purpose of Folds of Honor. Sessions for the second day included topics such as cyber crime and how to protect yourself against the latest threats, an update on revenue recognition, changes in corporate and individual taxes, leadership integrity, lease accounting, big data analytics and networking skills.
