This month’s Tulsa Chapter of the MGMA meeting focused on management through leadership. Presenter Connie Lindsey spent the majority of the time focusing
on the differences between being “just” a manager and taking on the role of a leader.
Some of her recommendations included adapting management styles based on situation, how to approach conflict resolution, employee coaching, characteristics of good leadership, and boundaries. My take away is that good leadership requires a proactive approach - meaning “know” what you will do before it happens.
This way, whether you are in the middle of a “hot mess” or just handling your “day-to-day” responsibilities, it will be from a position of leadership and not emotion or reaction.
