Sage HRMS Migrations for HR and Payroll

We are seeing more and more questions about moving from Abra Suite to Sage HRMS. Here are some typical questions many people have: 


How long does it take?

Migrating HR and Payroll from Abra Suite to Sage HRMS typically takes about 3 months. It is possible to go faster or slower, but we find 3 months is a good because it allows enough time for a good paced implemenation.

What does the migration process look like?

Here is an outline of a typical mitgration process:


  •      Installation of Sage HRMS
    •           Upsize the HR data from Abra Suite to Sage HRMS (can include modules: HR, Attendance/Time Off, and Train)

  •      Training on how to setup the Payroll module: GL codes, Earnings, Deductions, Taxes, etc.

  •      Setup all the code tables for the Payroll module

  •      Training on how to run a payroll
  •           Test run of 5-10 checks to see that we have the codes setup properly

  •      Trial Conversion
  •           Upsize the HR data from Abra Suite to Sage HRMS (can include modules: HR, Attendance/Time Off, and Train)
  •           Convert the Abra Suite data from payroll into Sage HRMS. Includes employee master file information of:
             Tax Exemptions for Federal and State Withholding, Extra Taxes, Direct Deposit Information, non-benefit deductions, and current year check detail


  •      Parallel 1 – run after normal payroll, compare the results of the parallel to the live and look for any setup issues

  •      Parallel 2 – run after normal payroll, compare the results of the parallel to the live and look for any setup issues. Test any custom reports, imports or tools         during this parallel.

  •      Continue with parallels until have the process down and issues resolved

  •      Final Conversion
  •           Upsize the HR data from Abra Suite to Sage HRMS (can include modules: HR, Attendance/Time Off, and Train)
  •          Convert the Abra Suite data from payroll into Sage HRMS. Includes employee master file information of: Tax Exemptions for Federal and State Withholding, Extra Taxes, Direct Deposit Information, non-benefit deductions, and current year check detail

  •      Go Live
