Tulsa, Oklahoma – July 6, 2016 – The Tour de Cure is more than a cycling event. It brings people together to raise money to support the American Diabetes Association and join the fight to Stop Diabetes®. Team CS3 was well represented in the 2015 Tulsa Tour de Cure once again. The riders set off early on Saturday, June 6, with riders from the team completing 50, 25, and 10 mile rides. A group of Team CS3 mint green-shirt-wearing supporters cheered on the riders as the start and finish lines. Team CS3 together raised a grand total of $4,720, and is the number four corporate team for 2016. Funds raised by CS3 this year doubled the CS3 funds of 2015.
“I’m proud of all our employees’ participation in the past, and we are looking forward to continuing our support of Brandi Clymer and the American Diabetes Association. It is a priveledge to help others when we have been given so much ourselves,” said Gary Grouch, President of CS3. The company gave each rider a donation of $29.00 to represent the 29 million Americans with diabetes.
Thousands of people with diabetes participate in Tour de Cure as "Red Riders." Red Riders are the reason for the ride - they are given a jersey to proudly wear on the day of the event. Brandi was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 1995 and began looking for a way to make a personal contribution to finding a cure soon after, finally focusing her efforts with Tour de Cure. She has been a huge supporter / participant of this amazing event since 2005, when she took to her bike, for her first race and began raising money and awareness for this often debilitating disease.
