As usual, the monthly meeting of Tulsa Chapter American Marketing Association had a great
meeting. The guest speaker was Trisha Kerkstra, General Manager of Post Oak Lodge, and she shared some extremely interesting information out tourism
in Oklahoma, primarily Tulsa.
Tourism is the third largest industry in Oklahoma. She shared that 66% of tourism travel comes from leisure, as opposed to business. Trisha really emphasized the value to each community about the total revenue that is infused by money that is spent with various business. Leisure travelers are looking for what is referred to as “pop culture.”
So things like the Route 66, Center of the Universe Festival, and the Oklahoma Pop Museum will draw many additional visitors to Tulsa. The Post Oak Lodge is adding to this list with their Wine and Jazz Festival that is premiering September 5th at their facility. Check this out.
Remember: I want to take a guest with me each month. Give me a shout and I will buy your lunch in September!
